A place I would like to visit

I usually travel a lot with my family but our trips are always inside the country, going to the south, the mountains, or relevant places as easter island, torres del paine, Osorno volcano, etc.

But I really wish - with all my heart - visit another countries specially the ones that are placed in Europe. I would like to see the historical places that are part of different countries like the Golden Gate, the places where the Beatles were playing, the Eifel Tower, the Arc of Triumph, etc… so, I dont want to visit only one country as you can see (:

But if you tell me that I have to chose only one, I’ll definitely pick Italy, I think this is a magic place where you can remember how to enjoy the life through the food and drink and the social spaces that the country offers to all the people that visit them.

I also think that the italian is a very nice lenguage. I enjoy very much listening to italians speaking, and I wish I could speak like them one day, using my hands and all my body to express the things that I want to say.

I hope to save enough money to make a trip sooner than later, I really belive that it's one of the most beautiful things that you can do in your life, to travel around the world and learn a lot of differents cultures. All my life I’ve been waiting for something and I think that when I can start my “dream travel” (around all the World in a ship) I’ll find it and maybe I could answer one of the most difficult questions that I have: are we so different that we must fight against each other?

This semester (express)

I hope this semester ends quickly but, meanwhile it happens, I can tell you that i’m very exited about the topic of my thesis, I wish with all my heart try to find the things that Raquel and I are searching, because the unusual terms of this year are giving us the posibilities for make of this two months a great time to be close to experiences that in other conditions we never had.

Some times I feel disgusted about the excesive hot of our weather but then I remember that in only 5 weeks we're gonna be free and we will enjoy this summer with our friends and families!

My Favorite Place

My favorite place is the south of Chile. I like all the places that you can find there! I haven’t visited the north of Chile but I’m pretty sure that it can’t be greatest than the south. I love the rivers, the lakes and the small cities that make of the region a wonderful and magic place.

When I go to the south, I visit my uncles and I stay in different cities: Puerto Montt, Frutillar, Osorno. Of those ones the most beautiful to me it’s Frutillar, because when you go to the lake and see the sun reflected on the water meanwhile it's hiding on the sea you can feel in your body and in your eyes all those many years that the Osorno Vulcano has and how little are all of us in this world. I love to spend the afternoon in the sand or swimming in the lake and later go to the lake theater, where you can hear gorgeous pieces of classic music and also make a lot of things like wine degustation or see paint and photograph expositions.

I was very young when I went for the first time to Frutillar, I’m not sure of what we did that time, but I know that since then, every summer my family and I take the car and drive twelve hours only to get there; and give a hug to my uncle, to my aunty and my cousins and start a new summer all together. That is what I been waiting all the year!!

But there is one thing that is needed to make of this place the greatest place in the world and it is the accompaniment, probably I can’t love this place without my family. Its great to stay awake all the night playing different games, cooking tradicional or special food or just talking about all memories and things that we have in common. Even when we argue for disagreements, we just need a few minutes to keep laughing and enjoy our dear place.

I’m a little sad about this year, because having classes in January means that we can’t go to the south and I’m not used to the warm of Santiago in Summer. I really miss a lot the rain and wind that only Puerto Montt and Frutillar have.

A photograph that I like

I think that one of the most incredible creations of the man it’s the photographic camera, because it let you keep materially your memories, it’s like a kind of time machine that allows you back in the time with one only look at different images.

As you can realize I’m a photograph lover, I love to take pictures of my family, friends, boyfriend, animals and all the things that I wish to remember in the future. I take them and print it for look at this every day; it gives me good vibrations to start each day. I also collect photographs that my friends upload at facebook to keep them close to me in some way.

This picture that I’m showing you is one of the most beautiful photographs that I have. On this appears in order (left to right) me, my Tata and my little sister Ljubica. We were on my Tata’s house and that day my aunty Sonia was taking pictures of us in different parts of the house, I’m not sure about who takes this photo but I love it because since my Tata died I can find his smile in every picture that I have and as I tell you at the beginning this little time machine makes me feels his smell and his enormous hug and I know that he is always with me and my sister. It was taken when I was 7 years old but I feel it as it was yesterday.

I hope that in the future the pictures could take more than the images of the moment, that could include the smells, the sounds and the temperature. Letting to the people back easily to their happy moments.

My childhood

When I was a child, we were many children in my family. I used to play with my cousins in the birthday parties and when we visited each other, but my sister and I was closer to my cousin Natalia, who lived across the street in front of our house. We played all kind of games created with things that were around us like mug, leaves, cooking things, etc. We also played with our pets, we always had too many pets!, that’s why all of us wanted to be veterinary because we learned early to love cats, dogs, birds, spiders, hamsters and all kind of animals.

Now I think that our childhood was a gorgeous time, a space in which we enjoyed full every second and when I remember those times I feel a warm feeling across my mind and heart and I know that it surely could make me smile.

Obviously, the way to be a child it’s changing every second with the new generations, I’m not sure about if the way that the kids are kids now it’s better or worst that the way that I was, but I wish that they could feel the same than me about their childhood and that enjoy getting out of their houses meeting the nature and the animals and in this way they could take care of this world that surely needs their love and care.

Even if the kids are changing and we think that they are not like we used to be, we need to know that they needs us to learn the most precious thing that, in my opinion, we have learned in the course of humanity, that the love and the peace can change the bad things in the world if we work together as a community having respect for every being, every spirit and every thought.

My favorite piece of technology

A few months ago my favorite piece of technology was my Nintendo Wii, but now there’s a new arrival that has taken my heart away: my cell phone.

My cell phone it’s a Smartphone that means that it can do lots of things that make your life easy or helps at less.

I get it on my birthday one month ago my father gave it to me because my old phone has suffer an accident, my little sister spill water over it causing it doesn’t work anymore :(

My smartphone it’s a Sony ericsson xperia x10 mini pro, and have all the things that I need and more: with it you can access to Internet using a wlan connection or trough a multimedia plan connection, it have a camera with 5.0 mp, a GPS, and a lot of applications that you can download from Android market.

I use it every day and in every moment, it helps me to do things at the university, talk and chat to my friends, boyfriend and family, hear the music that I love and even reminds me when I have to take my pills or the things that I have to do during the week.

I believe that I’m a geeky girl sometimes but I really don’t care because it lets me organize better my time and safe time to do other things.

My free time

I think that I really don’t have enough free time now days, that’s because my schedule in the University it’s very strenuous. We start our classes every day at 8:30 in the morning and finish it at 5:45 In the afternoon, also I live far away from the campus and the road to my house take me at less one hour, so I’m getting to my house every day around 8:oo pm. Any how I always try to make me a free time to do things that I like every day searching time between my classes and when I’m at home.

I have many hobbies, but now I’m giving more time for two particularly: writing and playing video games.

Since I was a child I loved to write anything in my copybooks, I have too much note pads with a lot of paragraphs, some of them are finished but most of them aren’t because the topics of my texts, until now, are changing every day and depends of my emotions and the thing that I see or that I do during the day. And the video games has been always one of my favorite things to do when I have free time, this days I have a Nintendo wii , that’s my fascination, I like every kind of games but now I’m playing “Just dance 2” and it’s too funny!

I believe that my hobbies let me get relax and also give me a few skills to think quickly, for example , or coordinate my eyes with my fingers, things that helps when you have to do another things as write faster in the computer meanwhile someone it’s dictating you or Also coordinate your eyes with your movements helps when you’re driving or playing instruments (:

I don’t think that “free time” refers to the time that you spend with your friends, boyfriend or family because there is a engagement that you need to satisfy and those are very delicate relationships and need cares and special time, so my free time it’s the one that I use to do things only by myself, the other time it’s a quality time, a good time but not a free time.

Education for freedom

When you talk about education, the first thing that comes to your mind it's the School as the biggest institution to find that tools that will let you know everything that you need to “be someone” in the life, and then comes the others obligatory steps to catch that goal: the institutes, the universities, etc.

But when you talk to me about education I see just one thing: find your freedom to be a better person for this world. That’s the idea that I want to share to you.

There are too many thinkers in the history of education but two, in particular, has caught my attention: Paulo Freire and Silvio Gallo.

These men are both Brazilians but they lived in different ages but this wasn’t a problem to think in the same way about education. They two want the freedom for the people in the world.

Let me start talking a little about Paulo Freire. He was born in Recife in 1921. In his childhood he met the poorness because the crisis of 1929. He realized his studies in the Recife University where he learned Laws, Education and Social service.

His knowledge about the poor families and his vocation guide him to work all his life going to help to the needy people and this also let him write about education as a libertarian process and not as a tool of the capitalism to create cheap manufacture.

Otherwise, Silvio Gallo is actually a professor in the State University of Campinas in Brazil. He’s 48 years old, he studied in the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas where learned philosophy. In 1990 he realized his master in education in the State University of Campinas, where He made his seminary titled “Educação anarquista: por uma pedagogia do risco” (Anarchist Education: a pedagogy of risk). After that He will became a Doctor in Education in the same university and work until now into the change of the concept of education trying to make it a space for the search of liberty for the human being.

I absolutely love the proposal of this two men because reflect completely my way to think the education and a concrete way to make changes in our society.

I think in the life, we have many ways to create things and express ourselves, and one of that is trough the music. The music is old as the world and not only thanks to the humanity but the nature too, there are sounds and music everywhere we look around.

At the beginning the music was the way to get closer to the universe and the spirits’ world, now the things don’t have change too much if you think about it, we all keep using the sounds and the music to find our spirits or achieve an high thinking. And that’s what the music is to me: a great way to find myself and get out of the world for a minute.

Particularly, I don’t have skills for the music, and I admire to the people that could play instruments and sing in tune, I wish do it too!

Talking about musical styles, I don't have a unique preference, I like any kind of music that makes me happy or feel chills trough my body.

I’m a true believer that most of the greatest thinkers in the history of the humanity wouldn't be so great as they were without the music and that in somehow the things in the world will be worst if we can't hear the sound of our feelings in our dear music.

I'm Paulina, i'm 22 years old and most of you know me because we're classmates since 2008 :D

I don't really know what to expect working at this blog, but I know that in somehow I'll learn something.

This class makes me happy that we finally have an exclusive English class for us, I think it could help to the group to learning English and maybe make it significative for all of us.
